Dieting Tips While on Hoodia

Hoodia is not necessarily a magic bullet when it comes to weight loss but it certainly can help you stick to a calorie restricted diet. Some people feel the effects of taking the hoodia immediately but others don’t feel the effects for about two weeks. In the meantime there are some eating tricks that you can utilize to help you stay disciplined and eat less calories than you normally would.

1. Always eat a light snack before going to a party or restaurant. This will help you resist fattening things like baskets of white bread or deep fried appetizers.

2. Don’ t eat in front of the television. This puts some people in a kind of trance where they continue to eat mindlessly while watching the screen. If your problem is food addiction then you might also want to use your remote to mute any parts of the commercial.

3. Get rid of temptations like potato chips, cakes and any other fattening or healthy foods that you keep in your car office or kitchen. You need to do this before you start taking the hoodia as it may take a couple of days before you are turned off of these foods.

4. Don’t eat on the run!  Sit down at the same times every day and enjoy your meal. Make a ritual of it. People who grab sustenance on the fly tend to be big consumers of fast food.  They also make lousy less nutritious choices.  You should also avoid eating standing up in front of the fridge or over your sink.  This leads to mindless snacking.

5. Stay away from carbonated drinks. First of all some people become dehydrated when they take hoodia (especially the hoodia that also has green tea in its formula) and most carbonated drinks are high in caffeine or sodium which can cause the depletion of fluids in the body. Studies have shown that when people cut all carbonated drinks from their diet they tend to lose fifteen pounds a month!

6. Keep an eye on how much alcohol you rink. Alcohol has calories and no nutrition. Hangovers and hoodoo are terrible bed partners. A hangover is basically caused by dehydration and cause severe cravings for foods that are not very good for you.

7. Fill up on soups while taking hoodoo. While you are taking hoodia you may not feel much like stuffing yourself so make sure you have nutritious soups on hand. Choose vegetable soups that have a great deal of fiber in them.  Filling up on soup as a first course also prevents you from overloading on calories.

8. Use non-stick pans to cook with to reduce your fat consumption. If you must oil try a flavorful nutirious oil.  You can also buy a Misto, which is a reusable aerosol can into which healthy oils can be put.

9. When dining out make sure to request all condiments like sauces, gravies and dressings on the side. This allows you to avoid the more fattening foods.

10. When you do have to eat fast food choose wisely. Avoid those deep fried and fattening foods and go for smaller portions with the highest amount of protein. A good example would be a small hamburger with one half of the bun removed to reduce the carbohydrates.
